Senior Backend Developer

Overview

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that support scalable and high-performance financial platforms.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical and efficient technical architectures.
• Improve and optimize existing backend services written in Node.js to enhance reliability, scalability, and system performance.
• Develop new backend solutions and integrations that interact with distributed services and microservice-based architectures through RPC calls.
• Write and optimize complex database queries for operational, financial, and compliance-related processes.
• Contribute to platform scalability initiatives to ensure real-time responsiveness and seamless user experiences as system demand grows.
• Apply strong security principles and best practices across backend services to protect infrastructure, transactions, and user data.
• Participate actively in Agile development processes, code reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the maintenance and evolution of backend infrastructure, messaging systems, caching layers, and job queue architectures.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience working with JavaScript and Node.js backend development.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems design principles.
• Experience contributing to the development and maintenance of complex, large-scale platforms or applications.
• Solid experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, frameworks, and engineering practices.
• Strong understanding of backend security concepts, secure API development, and infrastructure protection best practices.
• Experience with high-availability systems, scalability optimization, and real-time application performance is highly valued.
• Familiarity with blockchain integration concepts is considered a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of additional technologies such as Redis, message queues, caching systems, and job queues is preferred.
• Experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills within remote and cross-functional Agile teams.
