Role purpose

Responsibilities

• Build and own auditable, performant APIs for onboarding, screening, and entity intelligence.
• Add data-driven search, risk scoring, and relationship-mapping capabilities while maintaining stability.
• Integrate ElasticSearch and data platforms or services for risk assessment and compliance automation.
• Embed unit, integration, and end-to-end testing into the development lifecycle using a shift-left approach.
• Apply secure coding, privacy, and regulatory practices, including GDPR and ISO 27001 alignment.
• Maintain security, scalability, and maintainability; establish data modeling and ETL practices for accurate, consistent, secure data.
• Collaborate across product, UX, and compliance teams, and propose innovations in full-stack development, AI, and compliance automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a relevant master’s degree is a plus.
• At least five years of full-stack development experience, primarily with Python and Django REST Framework.
• Experience with scalable, secure applications, system design, API architecture, and production data-processing pipelines.
• Strong Python, Django, and Django REST Framework skills; database design using Microsoft SQL Server or similar.
• Knowledge of API security, OAuth2 or JWT authentication, and role-based access control.
• Familiarity with asynchronous task processing such as Celery or Redis; Microsoft SQL Server is preferred over similar databases.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization; comfortable with agile remote teamwork, peer programming, code reviews, and continuous integration.
• Experience mentoring developers, giving technical guidance, and conducting code reviews.
• RegTech, compliance, FinTech, maritime, ElasticSearch, AI/LLM, graph modeling, and sanctions or AML experience are described as pluses or preferred.
