Responsibilities

  • Own architecture and design for multi-petabyte block, file, and object storage; define standards, roadmaps, and service evolution.
  • Gather requirements, evaluate and select storage and backup technologies, and translate needs into scalable solutions.
  • Define disaster recovery strategies and support capacity planning, performance analysis, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and configuration assessments to identify optimization, consolidation, and risk mitigation opportunities.
  • Prepare and approve HLDs, LLDs, SOWs, BoQs/BoMs, RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs; support procurement and vendor evaluation.
  • Oversee deployment readiness, implementation quality, and acceptance testing; provide technical leadership and mentorship.
  • Improve operational standards and documentation practices, and lead observability and logging system design.
  • Comply with applicable laws and policies, attend mandatory training, report incidents, and handle information according to policy.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technology discipline.
  • At least 10 years designing, implementing, and managing storage solutions, including 5 years with software-defined block, file, and object storage.
  • Expert knowledge of storage architecture, data protection, and disaster recovery; strong experience with storage protocols and platforms.
  • Experience designing and implementing geo-distributed, large-scale storage clusters.
  • Strong understanding of encryption, hardening, security controls, and compliance.
  • Linux administration and scripting skills; understanding of modern APIs and identity and access management.
  • Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and proven delivery of large-scale infrastructure or cloud platform projects.

Technologies and advantageous experience

  • Storage platforms include IBM, NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, HPE, and VAST Data; protocols include iSCSI, S3, NFS, and NVMe over TCP.
  • Object storage tools and OpenStack backup and DR solutions are desirable, including Ceph, MinIO, Scality, Cloudian, Qumulo S3, Dell ECS, Trilio, Hystax, Rubrik, and Zerto.
  • TOGAF or Zachman, relevant storage/cloud/data protection certifications, and ITIL knowledge are advantageous.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary package, performance-based yearly bonus, discount cards, family insurance, and learning and development access.
