Senior AP Accountant

About This Role

VP Advogados is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Payable Accountant to join our finance department in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts payable activities, ensuring accurate financial transactions, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting efficient financial operations within a professional and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process, review, and verify supplier invoices, reimbursements, and payment requests
• Ensure timely and accurate payment execution in compliance with company policies and procedures
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies promptly
• Prepare accounts payable reports, accruals, and month-end closing schedules
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation for audit purposes
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure proper invoice approvals and payment processing
• Assist in cash flow planning and payment forecasting activities
• Support internal and external audit requirements and compliance standards
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and operational efficiencies
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting team members when needed

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in accounts payable or finance operations
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
• High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Experience in legal services, consulting, or multinational organizations is an advantage
