Responsibilities

• Own recurring SaaS, implementation, expansion, upsell, and passthrough billing; interpret contracts and source billing inputs.
• Reconcile vendor invoices against client rebilling and manage receivables, collections, invoicing, payables, payment runs, and vendor relationships.
• Manage US multi-state sales tax compliance, Avalara administration, exemption certificates, state notices, and tax audits.
• Own close across the US parent, Canadian entity, and subsidiary; maintain schedules and allocate payroll and benefits across departments.
• Analyze departmental variances and prepare monthly board KPI reporting.
• Lead the annual financial statement audit, prepare schedules and workpapers, respond to auditors, and post adjustments.
• Document recurring processes, identify root causes of errors, and improve systems and workflows.

What you bring

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full ownership of month-end close.
• Hands-on US multi-state sales tax experience, including nexus, registrations, filings, exemption certificates, and voluntary disclosure agreements.
• Working knowledge of Avalara or a comparable sales tax engine and its billing integration.
