Role purpose

Accounting and reporting

• Manage general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month- and year-end closing.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS financial statements; maintain entity records and support management reporting.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash-flow reports, and financial performance analysis.

Revenue, payables, and compliance

• Manage invoicing, collections, credit control, and customer account reconciliations.
• Recognize revenue for consulting, legal, licensing, visa, and government services; monitor work-in-progress, deferred income, unbilled revenue, and retainers.
• Review supplier invoices, oversee payments, reconcile banks, and monitor expenses against internal approval policies.
• Prepare and file UAE VAT returns, support UAE Corporate Tax compliance, and coordinate external audits.

Systems and improvement

• Use Zoho Books or similar ERP systems and Lexzur or similar legal practice management systems where applicable.
• Improve controls, procedures, and reporting efficiency; support ERP integrations, automation, and process optimization.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• At least 5–8 years of accounting experience, including at least three years in a senior accounting role, is required.
• Hands-on accounting experience in business setup consultancy, corporate services, law or legal consultancy, professional services, or management consultancy is required.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT, UAE Corporate Tax, revenue recognition, accrual accounting, and financial controls is required.
• ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CA is preferred.

Systems and competencies

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, financial reporting, ERP systems, CRM integrations, and financial reporting tools are required experience areas.
• Zoho Books experience is preferred; Lexzur experience is a strong advantage.
• Preferred sector knowledge includes company formation, authority payments, visa transactions, retainers, milestone and legal matter billing, commissions, intercompany accounting, and business-unit reporting.
• The role calls for analytical problem-solving, attention to detail, accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, communication, stakeholder management, and deadline management.

Performance measures

• Performance includes timely month- and year-end close and accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Measures include tax compliance, improved collections and cash-flow forecasting, accurate reconciliations, and fewer accounting errors and process inefficiencies.
