• ****About The Role****
• We are looking for an Accountant to help build, scale, and strengthen a core part of Swap’s finance operations.
• This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of accounting, systems, controls, and automation, helping shape how financial reporting, reconciliations, tax compliance, and month-end processes evolve within a fast-scaling, AI-native business.
• You will own day-to-day accounting activities, support month-end close processes across multiple legal entities, and play a key role in introducing automation, AI-driven efficiencies, and system improvements across the finance function.
• This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and operating in a fast-paced startup environment.
• You'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact while helping build the foundations of a modern, scalable finance function.
• ****Key Responsibilities****
• Support month-end accounting activities, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, journals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and post payroll journals across multiple legal entities and departments.
• Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany balances, and key balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain and improve month-end close trackers, finance policies, and control documentation.
• Support tax compliance activities, including VAT reviews and preparation of draft VAT returns.
• Contribute to system implementations and improvements, including NetSuite and automation initiatives.
• Assist with annual audits and broader finance operations across multiple legal entities.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency through automation and AI.

What We'd Like to See

• 3–5+ years' experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Degree, accountancy qualification, or studying towards AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or similar.
• Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for problem-solving and process improvement.
• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across the business.
• Interest in ecommerce, technology, or startup environments is a plus.
