Role overview
Oversee facility security to protect company assets; the role may also manage or implement protocols for confidential information and documents.
Supervision and duties
- Interview, hire, and train security staff.
- Oversee daily workflows, schedules, and assignments for security guards and desk clerks.
- Prepare and conduct training on workplace searches, drug and alcohol procedures, and related safety and security topics.
- Implement security protocols for assigned facilities and information systems.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and visitors.
- Provide specialized security and monitor access to restricted areas and confidential records.
- Conduct regular facility walkthroughs and security inspections.
- For government projects, liaise with agencies on project security and assist with clearance processing for employees on classified programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and experience
- Five years of related security experience is required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
Required skills
- Knowledge of security protocols and procedures; management and supervisory skills; written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to train staff on security policies and procedures and work with confidential and classified information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
License and physical requirements
- SIRA certification is preferred.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds and traverse facility areas to conduct inspections and plan security procedures.
