Security Engineer

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain network security infrastructure including Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, WAFs, ADCs, and Email Security Gateways.
• Monitor network traffic and security events to identify suspicious activities and respond proactively to potential threats.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, security audits, and risk assessments.
• Implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards to protect enterprise infrastructure and data.
• Manage and support Windows Server environments including Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, and authentication services.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based systems and services.
• Support and secure virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, AHV, and Citrix.
• Implement cloud security best practices across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Configure and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Data Classification solutions.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure deployment and configuration of infrastructure and applications.
• Provide technical support during security incidents, investigations, and remediation activities.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network devices, operating systems, and security solutions.
• Conduct system and network performance testing and resolve operational issues.
• Stay updated with emerging cybersecurity threats and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Network Security Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Network & Security technologies.
• Strong understanding of Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with NGFWs, IDS/IPS, VPNs, WAFs, ADCs, Email Security Gateways, and network security protocols.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and enterprise networking technologies.
• Experience with Windows Server environments and Active Directory administration.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including cloud security implementations.
• Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware, Hyper-V, AHV, and Citrix.
• Experience with DLP and Data Classification solutions.
• Experience in vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, security audits, and incident response.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes/containerized environments, including deployment, networking, security, and monitoring concepts.
• Ability to manage and troubleshoot hybrid IT infrastructure involving firewalls, switching/routing, Linux servers, and Kubernetes platforms.
• CCNP (Enterprise/R&S or Security) certification preferred.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, CEH, Microsoft Azure Security, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle critical security incidents.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of SIEM, EDR/XDR, and SOC operations.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and security frameworks.
• Scripting or automation knowledge using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
