The SBU Head – Helium & Specialty Gases is responsible for leading, growing, and optimizing the
*Helium, Specialty Gases, and Offshore business*
portfolios across assigned markets, with full accountability for strategic direction, commercial performance, operational excellence, safety, and profitability.
This executive leadership role drives sustainable and profitable growth through expansion of the end-user customer base, enhancement of market share, and assurance of secure, reliable supply continuity throughout the region.
The position is accountable for defining and executing the business’s five-year strategic roadmap, identifying emerging market opportunities, and maximizing both commercial effectiveness and operational performance, with a strong focus on safety.
We are seeking a strong leader who will drive continuous improvement throughout the Enterprise.
With full P&L ownership, the SBU Head will lead cross-functional teams spanning sales, operations, supply chain, and commercial functions to deliver accelerated revenue growth, margin expansion, safety performance, and operational excellence with the ability to encourage a process of continuous improvement among the entire organization. The role also requires building and maintaining strong long-term customer relationships, strategic alliances, and key industry partnerships to reinforce competitive advantages and in support of long-term business objectives.
Strategy & Business Leadership
- Define and execute the regional growth strategy for the Helium, Specialty Gases, and Offshore business portfolios, ensuring full alignment with broader corporate objectives and long-term strategic priorities.
- Identify, evaluate, and capitalize on new growth opportunities across new and emerging markets, applications, distribution channels, and customer segments to accelerate growth. Lead the development of annual operating plans, budget cycles, and multi-year strategic business plans, establishing clear performance objectives and resource allocation priorities.
- Drive strong cross-functional leadership and organizational alignment across commercial, operations, supply chain, and supporting functions to ensure disciplined execution and delivery of business objectives.
Commercial Excellence & Market Expansion
- Lead commercial direction, including pricing architecture, contract strategy, and differentiated value propositions to drive profitable growth.
- Expand market share across GCC, MENA, and targeted international markets, with a strong focus on direct end-user penetration, deepening customer engagement, and capturing high-value growth opportunities. Lead strategic account management, including major tenders, long-term contracts, and partnerships.
- Build, cultivate, and maintain executive-level relationships with key stakeholders, including global supply partners, EPC contractors, and offshore operators.
Full P&L Accountability
- Assume full ownership of the business’s financial performance, with accountability for revenue growth, profitability, cash generation, and disciplined cost management.
- Drive sustainable margin expansion through pricing, portfolio management and optimization, and continuous improvement in operational efficiency.
- Establish rigorous performance management processes through robust forecasting and KPI management, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Maximize asset productivity and ROIC across cylinders, bulk assets, offshore equipment, and ISO tanks.
Supply Chain, Safety & Operational Excellence
- Ensure continuity and resilience of supply across
- *Helium and Specialty gas*
- portfolios.
- Develop and strengthen sourcing strategies and supplier partnerships to mitigate risk and enhance long-term supply security.
- Oversee operational performance across filling plants, offshore hubs, and logistics networks to ensure high standard of execution, service reliability, and operational discipline
- Champion a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement, driving initiatives that improve efficiency, customer service performance, asset reliability, and overall cost competitiveness.
Offshore Business Leadership
- Lead the growth of the Offshore business portfolio, including diving, welding, and life-support gases and the associated services.
- Ensure full compliance with international offshore standards (IMCA, DNV, ABS, etc.), maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and risk management.
- Develop, strengthen, and expand strategic partnerships with offshore contractors and vessel operators, EPC firms and key industry stakeholders to expand market presence and secure long-term business.
- Drive growth through active participation in key offshore tenders and market expansion initiatives.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Build and lead a top-performing, accountable team across commercial and operational functions fostering team-work and personal growth.
- Create and sustain a performance-driven culture focused on collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement that aligns to the objectives of the business.
- Serve as the executive sponsor for key customers and strategic partners and critical stakeholders, providing senior-level leadership to strengthen trust, resolve complex issues, and support long-term commercial success.

- Ensure full compliance with regulatory, industry, and internal HSSE standards.
- Champion a strong safety culture across all operations.
- Oversee audits, regulatory certifications, and risk management frameworks, with adherence to best-in-class industry standards.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering/business or related field
Experience
12–15 years of experience in industrial gases.
Experience
across GCC/MENA markets preferred
Strong experience managing large-scale commercial portfolios
Proven track record in business development and leading multi-country portfolios.
Strong Commercial and P&L management experience.
Computer Skill
Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Team
Languages: Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills in the English language are required.
