Role overview

Contribute to development, automation, and operation of satellite programs.

Combine hands-on satellite operations with software development and systems engineering from design through orbit.

Work across software, hardware, and operational interfaces to support commissioning, nominal operations, and anomaly resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Execute satellite operations, including on-call rotation as Satellite Controller/Flight Director.
  • Configure program tools, procedures, dashboards, subschedules, resolvers, and autopilot plans.
  • Configure systems for commissioning and nominal operations; resolve anomalies and maintain space-infrastructure performance.
  • Develop automation for ground-based and space-based operations; script mission performance and cockpit configurations, preferably in Python.
  • Validate and verify satellite-operations tools and support test campaigns before and during launch.
  • Apply “Test as We Fly” to mission-critical systems and use customer CONOPS for operational planning and execution.
  • Interface with customers before and during mission deployment.

Must-have qualifications

  • Strong background in satellite operations and complex systems management.
  • Proven software development experience with strong automation skills.
  • Ability to work across ground-based, space-based, and interface hardware/software systems.
  • Proficiency in Python and Git.
  • Willingness to train as a Satellite Controller/Flight Director, including commissioning and on-call rotation.
  • Pragmatic approach, accountability, autonomy, and ownership in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Airbus satellite-platform experience, including Arrow-150 bus in avionics, ADCS, or propulsion.
  • LEO satellite operations and constellation-management experience.
  • Customer interaction and management experience.
  • Satellite testing, AIT, validation, and verification experience.
  • Arabic language skills or willingness to learn Arabic.
