Job Summary

The Sales Director – UAE is responsible for driving revenue growth, profitability, and customer retention across the DP World Logistics portfolio within the UAE market.

The role will own, develop and grow an existing Book of Business (BOB) while identifying and securing new business opportunities across freight forwarding, contract logistics, warehousing, customs brokerage, transportation, and value-added logistics solutions.

The incumbent will act as a strategic commercial leader, building long-term customer relationships, and positioning DP World Logistics as an integrated end-to-end supply chain partner.

The postholder will be responsible for leading a team of Sales staff and fostering a high-performance, customer-focused sales culture.

Commercial Leadership

  • Own and manage a significant portfolio of existing customers, ensuring revenue growth, retention, and profitability.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve annual revenue and gross profit targets.
  • Drive cross-selling and upselling opportunities across the full DP World Logistics service portfolio.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities through proactive business development activities.
  • Lead strategic customer engagement and contract negotiations for key accounts.

Business Development

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across target industry sectors.
  • Develop relationships with decision-makers, procurement teams, and senior stakeholders within customer organizations.
  • Leverage market intelligence to identify emerging opportunities and competitive threats.
  • Collaborate with Solutions Design, Operations, Freight Forwarding, and Contract Logistics teams to develop compelling customer solutions.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Establish trusted advisor relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Lead executive-level customer reviews and business development discussions.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention through proactive account management.
  • Resolve complex commercial issues and escalations where required.

Commercial Governance

  • Ensure accurate forecasting and pipeline management through CRM tools.
  • Maintain visibility of sales performance, opportunities, and market developments.
  • Ensure compliance with company commercial policies, pricing governance, and approval processes.
  • Support tender submissions, RFQs, and contract negotiations.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of field sales professionals, setting clear objectives, monitoring performance, providing coaching and feedback, and fostering a high-performance, customer-focused sales culture.
  • Drive employee engagement, succession planning and capability development to build a strong sales talent pipeline and support business growth.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, pipeline reviews and one-to-one coaching sessions to maximise productivity and commercial effectiveness.
  • Partner with HR on recruitment, talent development, performance management and succession planning to ensure the team has the capability required to achieve business objectives.
  • Work closely with operational and functional teams to ensure successful implementation and delivery of customer solutions.

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Valid UAE driving licence.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification in Business or Supply Chain Management.

Experience

  • Minimum 10–15 years of commercial experience within logistics and supply chain solutions.
  • Proven success managing and growing a substantial Book of Business within the UAE market.
