Safety Officer responsible for HSE compliance and safety culture at construction and industrial sites.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and monitor site HSE policies and procedures; ensure compliance with local authority and project requirements.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and risk assessments; identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions; monitor PPE use and safe work practices.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare reports; maintain HSE records, permits, and documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and supervisors; support audits, inspections, and authority visits.
- Stop unsafe work practices, enforce safety rules, and promote safety awareness among workers.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent certification is mandatory.
- Three to seven years of Safety Officer experience in construction or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards; good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- UAE experience and local authority knowledge are preferred; immediate joiners are preferred.
