About the Role

What You'll Be Doing

• Maintain policies, risk taxonomy, methodologies and governance processes within the enterprise risk management framework.
• Coordinate RCSAs, challenge residual risk positions and track remediation.
• Support the Risk Appetite Framework, including appetite statements, thresholds, escalation routes and reporting.
• Develop and report KRIs and escalate areas outside agreed risk appetite.
• Prepare reporting for risk and management committees.
• Review and challenge first-line risk and control information.
• Oversee incidents through assessment, root cause analysis, lessons learned and remediation tracking.
• Provide risk input into operational resilience, business continuity, outsourcing, third-party risk and DORA activity.
• Conduct control testing, thematic reviews, monitoring and targeted risk assessments.
• Track risk issues, control deficiencies and remediation actions to completion.

What You'll Bring

• Practical risk management experience in financial services, fintech, payments or another regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of second-line risk management principles.
• Experience with RCSAs, risk registers, control assessments, risk scoring, reporting or governance.
• Experience with risk appetite frameworks, KRIs, committee reporting or management risk reporting.
• Practical incident management experience including root cause analysis, issue tracking and remediation monitoring.
• Good understanding of operational risk, control design, control effectiveness and remediation.
• Working knowledge of operational resilience, business continuity, outsourcing or third-party risk.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to provide constructive challenge.
• Payments, e-money, card issuing, BIN sponsorship or embedded finance experience is highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of UK or EU payments and e-money regulation, DORA, GRC tooling or automated risk reporting is valuable.
