Restaurant Hostess at Raffles Dubai, welcoming guests at Azur Restaurant and Solo Italian Restaurant and reporting to a Supervisor.
Guest service and reservations
- Welcome and seat guests, provide a warm greeting, and control guest flow.
- Take telephone bookings and maintain clear, organized reservations.
- Maintain guest records and update the guest database.
- Resolve guest complaints where possible and report incidents to supervisors or managers.
Restaurant operations
- Assist with table and display setup; keep the hostess station, nearby areas, and menus clean.
- Apply LQA and hotel standards in guest interactions and attend service training.
- Maintain outlet reports and prepare operational materials accurately and on schedule.
- Support service during busy periods, including section holding, coffee station, back area, and mise en place.
- Present checks and cashier when needed; follow safety, sanitation, and hygiene policies.
- Control guest flow and turnover, train staff in hostess standards, and ensure readiness before opening.
- Assist other Food & Beverage outlets during peak periods and carry out other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and experience
- Secondary education and one year of hotel experience in food and beverage.
- Excellent English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency.
- Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills, professional grooming, and eagerness to learn and share knowledge.
