Description

The Head Hostess is responsible for overseeing the front-of-house operations and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests at the hotel's restaurant.

Reporting to the Restaurant Assistant Manager/ Restaurant Manager, this role plays a crucial part in maintaining high service standards, managing the host team, and contributing to the overall success of the restaurant.

Responsibilities

  • Guest Experience and Team Management
  • Warmly greet and welcome guests, making them feel valued and appreciated from the moment they arrive.
  • Efficiently manage the seating of guests, ensuring optimal table utilization and minimizing wait times.
  • Monitor and maintain the ambiance and cleanliness of the restaurant's front-of-house areas.
  • Provide excellent customer service, address guest inquiries and concerns promptly, and escalate issues to the Restaurant Assistant Manager as needed.
  • Lead, train, and supervise the hostess team, ensuring they adhere to the hotel's service standards and provide consistent, attentive service.
  • Assist in scheduling and managing the host team's shifts, breaks, and time-off requests.
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant Assistant Manager and other departments to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
  • Maintain accurate guest profiles in the reservation system, recording preferences, special occasions, seating requests, and dietary/allergen requirements.
  • Update guest notes after each visit and communicate key details to the floor team to ensure personalized, consistent service.
  • Operations and Administrative Support
  • Maintain accurate records of reservations, waitlists, seating assignments and guest preferences
  • Monitor table turnovers and dining times to optimize the flow of guests and maximize revenue.
  • Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment of front-of-house supplies.
