Position summary

Maintenance and repair

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical-room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machines; carry equipment such as tools and a radio.
• Identify, locate, and operate equipment and building utility shut-off valves.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Handle maintenance needs involving air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building systems.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood-trim repair, light-bulb and A/C-filter replacement, and cleanup.
• Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical components, guestroom items, and internet devices.
• Program televisions, perform engineering-related inventory duties, and use computers to input air-handler schedules and change temperatures.
• Use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance and repair interior and exterior landscaping and sprinkler systems.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved programs and standards.

Required qualification

• A driver’s license is required.

Preferred qualifications

• A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance and interior or exterior surface preparation and painting is preferred.
• Hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus; no supervisory experience is listed.

• Follow safety and security policies, report maintenance problems and hazards, complete safety training, and store flammable materials properly.
• Maintain a professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, welcome guests, and address service needs.
• Meet quality expectations, support team goals, and communicate professionally.
• The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance, moving on stairs, ramps, or ladders, and bending, reaching, and stooping.
