Food preparation and cooking
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, storing, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring, and mixing.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food-preparation checklists.
- Prepare cold foods and operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Test food for doneness, monitor quality, and check that appliances and food are at the correct temperatures.
- Set up and break down the workstation; serve suitable portions on appropriate receptacles.
- Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
Safety and teamwork
- Follow company safety and security procedures, complete safety training, and report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to a manager.
- Maintain a clean, professional uniform and appearance; protect confidential information and company assets.
- Communicate professionally, maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to colleagues’ concerns.
- Perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.
Preferred qualifications
- At least one year of related work experience.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- No supervisory experience is specified; no license or certification is specified.
