Overview
The role leads month-end and year-end close processes, prepares statutory and management reports, and ensures adherence to all tax and regulatory requirements, maintaining strong general ledger integrity and internal controls while managing the external audit process.
In addition, the position owns the annual budgeting cycle and rolling forecasts, providing variance analysis, cashflow oversight and actionable financial insights, including scenario planning and working capital optimisation, to support decision-making and identify risks and opportunities.
The Senior Accountant also leads and develops the finance team, reviewing outputs for accuracy and driving continuous improvement and high performance standards. Furthermore, the role oversees end-to-end Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, including billing, collections, debtor management, supplier onboarding, invoice processing, reconciliations, and payment cycles, ensuring data accuracy, strong controls, effective stakeholder management and ongoing enhancement of processes to mitigate risk and improve efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with demonstrated leadership in financial reporting and close processes
- Strong expertise in general ledger management, statutory reporting, and internal controls
- Proven experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
- In-depth knowledge of audit procedures and regulatory compliance requirements
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and mentor finance team members
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in accounts receivable and payable operations, including process optimization and risk mitigation
- Ability to deliver strategic financial insights that influence business decisions
