• The Registered Nurse – Operating Room provides perioperative nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• The role involves preparing the operating room, assisting surgeons and anesthesiologists during operations, monitoring patient status, and ensuring adherence to safety and infection control standards.
• The nurse supports optimal surgical outcomes by delivering skilled, compassionate, and coordinated care in collaboration with the surgical team.
• 🛠 Key Responsibilities
• Provide safe, effective, and compassionate perioperative nursing care to patients.
• Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Verify patient identity, surgical procedure, and consent before surgery.
• Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during operations by anticipating needs and providing instruments.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs, anesthesia response, and overall condition intraoperatively.
• Maintain strict aseptic and infection control practices throughout procedures.
• Document nursing interventions, surgical counts, and patient information accurately.
• Support post-anesthesia recovery and provide immediate postoperative care.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and staff training initiatives.
• 🎓 Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable country/state
• Minimum of 2 years’ clinical nursing experience, preferably in an operating room or perioperative setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and perioperative standards.
• Proficiency in operating room technology, instruments, and patient monitoring systems.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced surgical environment.
