Provide evidence-based, woman-centred antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to women and newborns in a multidisciplinary maternity service.
Responsibilities
- Assess maternal and fetal well-being, obtain histories, identify complications, and create individualized care plans.
- Educate women and families about pregnancy, childbirth, nutrition, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
- Assist with and manage normal labor and delivery; monitor labor progress, fetal heart rate, and maternal vital signs.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies, administer prescribed treatment within scope, and provide labor pain-management support.
- Provide postpartum care, assess newborns, and support breastfeeding and lactation.
- Document assessments and outcomes; coordinate care with multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Follow infection-control and safety practices, advocate for women's preferences, and participate in quality initiatives.
- Provide family-planning and reproductive-health counseling; maintain competency through continuing education and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Midwifery or Nursing with a midwifery qualification.
- Valid DOH/DHA license and current home-country license.
