Key responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, BOQs, and cost estimates for mechanical works.
- Review drawings, specifications, tender documents, and contract requirements.
- Prepare and evaluate subcontractor and supplier enquiries, quotations, and comparisons.
- Monitor project costs, commitments, variations, and commercial changes.
- Prepare interim payment applications, valuations, and payment certificates.
- Measure and value completed mechanical works at site.
- Identify, evaluate, and prepare variation orders and claims.
- Review subcontractor applications, supporting documents, and invoices.
- Assist with cost reports, forecasts, and commercial reports.
- Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, engineers, procurement, and accounts teams.
- Verify quantities and progress against approved drawings and site records; maintain commercial records.
- Support subcontract and final account close-out and ensure commercial activities follow project requirements and company procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- 8–12 years of relevant mechanical quantity-surveying experience; GCC experience is preferred.
- Experience in building, MEP, infrastructure, or major construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical works, including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and related MEP systems.
- Knowledge of BOQ preparation, measurement, variations, valuations, and cost control.
- Experience managing subcontractor and supplier commercial matters.
- Understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant quantity-surveying or measurement software.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- GCC or Qatar project experience is preferred.
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and negotiation skills; able to work independently and meet deadlines.
Pay
- Pay is QAR 9,000–10,000 per month.
