Role overview

Join the Tender Department to prepare quantity take-offs, bills of quantities, and cost inputs for competitive bids.

Work with estimators, planners, engineers, and procurement on well-priced tender submissions.

Tender scope and measurement

  • Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, addenda, and contract conditions; identify scope gaps, risks, discrepancies, and ambiguities.
  • Raise clarifications and RFIs and prepare tender queries, assumptions, exclusions, and qualifications.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs from 2D/3D drawings and BIM models and prepare or check BOQs using the specified measurement method.
  • Reconcile quantities against client BOQs and flag variances.

Pricing and tender coordination

  • Analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations and prepare comparisons and recommendations.
  • Build unit rates and item pricing from company cost data, historical data, and current market rates.
  • Contribute to pricing preliminaries, general requirements, temporary works, provisional sums, overheads, profit, contingencies, and risk allowances.
  • Coordinate inputs from planning, engineering, procurement, HSE, and commercial teams; assist with commercial submissions, cost breakdowns, cash flow forecasts, and clarification responses.
  • Support post-tender meetings, value engineering, negotiations, and BAFO submissions; hand over awarded tender data to the project commercial team.

Records and market tracking

  • Maintain tender cost databases, rate libraries, and lessons-learned records.
  • Track material and labour price trends in the UAE market.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of quantity surveying or estimating experience, including at least 3 years in a contractor’s tender or estimation department; experience may be adjusted for junior or senior level.
  • UAE/GCC project experience is strongly preferred; Abu Dhabi experience is a plus.
  • RICS membership or progress toward chartership is desirable.

Technical skills

  • Strong knowledge of measurement standards such as POMI, CESMM, or NRM and contract forms, especially FIDIC.
  • Proficiency in take-off and estimating software such as CostX, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar; advanced MS Excel skills are required.
  • Ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings; BIM-based quantification is an advantage.
  • MS Project or Primavera knowledge for cost/time integration is an advantage.

Personal qualifications

  • High attention to detail and numerical accuracy; able to meet tight tender deadlines and manage several bids at once.
  • Good analytical, negotiation, and communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
  • Able to coordinate across departments as a team player.

Pay

  • AED 5,000–12,000 per month.

Work location

  • Work is in person.
