The Quality Manager is a part-time, remote role responsible for maintaining and improving quality standards across SDC SNIST’s projects, processes, and member experiences.
On a day-to-day basis, this role involves defining quality metrics, creating checklists and review frameworks, and coordinating with development, design, and operations teams to ensure deliverables meet agreed standards.
The Quality Manager will review project documentation, test workflows, gather feedback from stakeholders, and identify gaps or risks that could impact reliability or user experience.
This role also includes preparing concise quality reports, recommending process improvements, and facilitating periodic audits or retrospectives.
Collaboration, clear communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are central to success in this position.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of quality management principles, including setting standards, defining metrics, and implementing continuous improvement practices.
- Experience with process documentation, checklists, review procedures, and basic quality assurance or testing methodologies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in domains such as web development, application development, UI/UX, cybersecurity, or AI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear feedback and concise quality reports.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail and the ability to identify root causes of issues.
- Prior experience in a student organization, tech community, or project coordination role is an advantage.
- Comfort working independently in a remote, part-time setting while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Pursuing or holding a degree in engineering, computer science, management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
