Job Description
The Quality Engineer will support the supervision team in monitoring, evaluating, and ensuring that all highway construction works comply with project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of roads/highways, materials, and QA/QC processes, along with experience working on consultant-side supervision teams in the Middle East.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Implement and monitor the project’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with client and consultant standards.
- Review and approve Contractor’s Quality Control procedures, ITPs, method statements, and material submissions.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and international standards (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO, BS).
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and quality walkthroughs on-site.
Construction Supervision
- Oversee quality aspects of roadworks, earthworks, drainage, utilities, pavement layers, asphalt works, and structures related to the highway.
- Verify material testing results, laboratory reports, and ensure all tests are performed as per standards.
- Monitor workmanship quality and highlight any non-conformities or deviations.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed and accurate quality records, NCRs, CARs, inspection logs, and test reports.
- Prepare weekly and monthly QA/QC reports for internal and client review.
- Follow up with the contractor to ensure timely closure of NCRs and corrective actions.
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with REs, discipline engineers, the Contractor’s QA/QC team, and the client regarding quality issues.
- Provide technical support and guidance to site inspectors to enhance quality monitoring.
- Participate in progress, technical, and quality meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- 7–12 years of experience in QA/QC for highways/road construction projects.
- Prior experience working with engineering supervision consultants in KSA is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of highway materials, QA/QC procedures, test requirements, and international standards.
- Experience with large-scale infrastructure or expressway projects.
- Strong report writing, communication, and coordination skills.
