Roles and responsibilities
- Implement project quality plans, inspection and test plans, and approved method statements.
- Prepare and maintain quality documents and records; ensure compliance with ISO requirements and quality standards.
- Inspect project sites and monitor cable laying, jointing, HDD, trenching, and related activities.
- Perform and document DC sheath and phasing tests; issue NCRs and track corrective actions to closure.
- Conduct root-cause analysis, participate in audits, support audit findings and continuous improvement, and maintain quality logs and test records.
- Compile quality dossiers and ensure quality records are accurately filed, traceable, and retained.
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 3–5 years of technical experience installing underground transmission power line projects.
- Certification from TAQA UAE.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, PQP, ITPs, Method Statements, and NCR management.
- Experience with 132/220 kV HV cable installation, jointing, termination, and site inspections.
- Skill in DC sheath, phasing, Hi-Pot/IR, and duct/HDD pressure tests.
- Ability to interpret IFC drawings, cable profiles, joint bay layouts, and TRANSCO/ADDC/DEWA specifications.
- Competence preparing quality reports, test certificates, and SPQR, and managing subcontractor compliance.
