Role summary

Hands-on technical contribution

• Design, develop, and ship full-stack features using Java Spring Boot and React with minimal direction.
• Architect RESTful APIs and microservices and own their lifecycle from design through deployment.
• Write complex Oracle SQL queries and manage schema design, performance tuning, and indexing.
• Contribute directly to CI/CD setup, containerization, and OpenShift deployment.
• Debug, optimize, and refactor production code for performance and scalability.
• Use and champion AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot in daily engineering work.

Technical leadership and delivery

• Set architecture and make independent decisions on system design, API contracts, and data modeling.
• Conduct code reviews; define engineering standards, security practices, and documentation expectations.
• Evaluate and introduce tools, frameworks, and patterns based on hands-on assessment.
• Lead agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and delivery milestones while continuing to code.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pair programming, code walkthroughs, and technical coaching.
• Work with product managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions and build them.
• Manage delivery risk, technical debt, and cross-team dependencies while retaining engineering accountability.

Required qualifications

• At least 7 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Current proficiency in Java Full Stack Development, including regular Spring Boot and React coding.
• Deep expertise in RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Strong Oracle Database and SQL skills covering queries, performance tuning, indexing, and data modeling.
• Direct experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and containerized deployments.
• Able to work independently in ambiguous environments with minimal oversight.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; 15 years of full-time education is stated as preferred.

Preferred qualifications

• Hands-on OpenShift or Kubernetes deployment experience.
• Experience with API security such as OAuth2 or JWT, and cloud-native design patterns.
• Prior experience as a senior individual contributor transitioning into a working management role.
