Responsibilities
- Review piping specifications, drawings, ITPs, method statements, and quality procedures.
- Inspect piping materials, fittings, valves, and consumables; verify material test certificates, traceability, and compliance.
- Inspect fit-up, dimensions, orientation, and alignment before welding.
- Verify approved welding procedures, consumables, preheat, interpass temperature, and welding parameters.
- Monitor fabrication, erection, welding, NDT, hydrotesting, flushing, drying, and reinstatement.
- Coordinate inspection and test schedules with site teams and NDT subcontractors.
- Review NDT reports, hydrotest packages, pressure-test records, and as-built documents.
- Raise non-conformance and corrective-action reports; track actions through close-out.
- Coordinate client and third-party inspection hold points, witness points, and final document approval.
- Maintain inspection, calibration, welder performance, and daily quality records.
- Ensure work follows company quality-management and HSE requirements.
Qualifications and competencies
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- At least 5 years as a piping QA/QC Inspector on Oil & Gas or construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, API, ASTM, and relevant piping codes.
- Ability to read P&IDs, isometric drawings, and general arrangement drawings.
- Experience in material verification, piping inspection, hydrotesting, and NDT coordination.
- Ability to review welding documents, inspection reports, and quality records; strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
- CSWIP or BGAS certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office and awareness of HSE regulations and ISO 9001 requirements.
