Strategic
Keeps abreast with international/National HSE standards, codes and industry practices.
Prepares division's yearly budget, tracks expenses on regular basis and makes pro-active corrections when needed.
Align HSE department goals and objectives with overall Amana approved Strategy
Operational
Understands, implements and monitors the contract/project related safety requirements and procedures and prepares risk assessments on that.
Ensures project HSE plan implementation by all personnel including subcontractors and any other third party.
Develops , implements and updates the project specific safety requirements/programs such as: emergency and fire drill Programs, safety inductions, safety training programs, inspection programs, tool box talks, etc.
Coordinates and conducts periodical safety meetings and HSE audits on site (including subcontractors) to discuss HSE issues and corrective actions to be taken.
Approves the selection and inspection of personal protective equipment (PPE), respiratory protective equipment (RPE) and other projects specific safety equipment/devices and monitors their usage, maintenance and storage on site.
Attends project progress meeting and contributes to the safety sections, highlights safety issues, equipment/resource requirement and promotes HSE awareness on site.
Prepares project proactive and reactive HSE management reports including safety inspection report, periodical audit reports, safety statistics and summaries of training inductions and incidents.
Investigates site accidents (injuries and illnesses), security and environmental issues, analyzes their root causes and prepares corrective and preventive action reports.
Follows-up on actions taken to ensure proper implementation.
Conducts frequent inspections, rounds on site and shows regular physical presence to ensure compliance with the project HSE plan.
Provides feedback to business unit management for developing the systems needed to compile and record the Company s safety statistics and lessons learned.
Leads accident/ incident investigations and advises to take appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Circulates lessons learned to all concerned and monitors its practical implementation in all projects.
People Management
Responsible for the division's manpower resource planning and assists the HR division in the recruitment and selection process.
Sets goals and objectives for division and subordinates, delegates duties and responsibilities and tracks progress towards successful achievement.
Conducts a fair performance review for subordinates and provides constructive feedback.
Oversees the training and development needed for division's effective operations and subordinates' career development.
Promotes a positive team spirit by motivating subordinates to reach their full potential.
