Role overview

Responsibilities

• Develop robust web frameworks and backend code to serve datasets efficiently and support data-driven applications.
• Develop RESTful APIs using Python web frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.
• Use asynchronous programming and handle concurrent connections while optimizing I/O operations.
• Design and build clean, efficient, maintainable microservices.
• Apply microservices security practices for authentication, authorization, and encryption, and secure APIs using OAuth, JWT, and API gateways.
• Ensure the quality of technical and application architecture and system design across the organization.
• Research and benchmark technology against other leading technologies.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of Python development and design experience in API development and service integration.
• Experience creating frameworks for observable, scalable, and extensible applications and APIs.
• Excellent knowledge of microservices, MongoDB, and data handling; experience with performance tuning, debugging, and monitoring.
• Experience across the software development lifecycle and REST API development using Flask or Django.
• Experience integrating AI models, multiprocessing, and load balancing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD principles, troubleshooting distributed services, and production resiliency and monitoring.
• Experience with banking, financial services, or fintech in an enterprise environment is preferred.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience is an added advantage.

Technical skills

• Python 3.6 or above; related database technologies include MongoDB and Postgres.
• REST APIs using Flask, Django, or other Python frameworks; Python concurrency and asyncio.
• Microservices security, authentication, authorization, encryption, OAuth, JWT, and API gateways.
• Microservices architecture, containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, distributed-services resiliency, and monitoring.
• AI model integration, multiprocessing, load balancing, performance tuning, debugging, and monitoring.

Functional skills

• Experience with coding, security, unit-testing, and documentation standards and practices.
• Experience with Agile methodology.
