Role Description
The Purchasing Officer is a part-time role responsible for managing procurement activities that support the network’s operations and events.
The role is hybrid, based in Dubai with the flexibility to perform some duties from home.
Day-to-day responsibilities include processing purchase requisitions, preparing and tracking purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services from vendors.
The Purchasing Officer will evaluate supplier proposals, assist with contract negotiation, and maintain accurate purchasing records.
The role also involves analyzing purchasing data to optimize costs, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand and meet purchasing needs.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong knowledge of purchasing processes, including handling purchase orders and purchase requisitions.
- Candidates should possess skills in contract negotiation, with the ability to compare supplier offers and support favorable terms.
- Candidates should possess analytical skills to evaluate costs, track spending, and identify opportunities for efficiency.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and relationship-building skills to work with vendors and internal teams.
- Candidates should possess solid organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple procurement tasks in a part-time schedule.
- Experience in procurement, supply chain, or finance roles, preferably in an international or regional business environment, is beneficial.
- Familiarity with basic procurement or ERP software and proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) are beneficial.
- A relevant diploma or degree in business, supply chain management, finance, or a related field is beneficial.
