(PT) Science Lab Assistant

About the Department

Position Duties

• Maintains lab inventory Meets with supervisor and co-workers to discuss daily procedures, issues and ideas Reports problems to the assistant director Meets with faculty to identify their laboratory needs Keeps labs, prep areas, stock rooms and greenhouse areas organized and in good condition for efficient and safe use Maintains and cleans laboratory glassware, equipment, cabinets, shelves, animal cages, etc. Preps laboratory carts; ensures labs are clean and supplies are in lab in advance of start time; make preparations for visiting groups Monitors security of lab equipment Related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Experience: Science lab experience Competencies and Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of science lab equipment, materials, and safety practices Good organizational skills Computer literacy Able to handle dissection specimens Physical Requirements: Ability to walk/stand for up to 7 hours Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to climb two flights of stairs and ladder/step stool
• Associate's

• Good organizational skills
• Computer literacy
• Able to handle dissection specimens

Other Qualifications

• Terms of Employment: This position may require flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.
