About The Role

You will be responsible for delivering defence and government infrastructure projects from planning through to construction and handover.

These projects are typically high-security, technically complex, and involve multiple stakeholders.

Your role is to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with defence requirements.

Project Delivery

  • Lead projects from initiation, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Monitor progress and ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Manage project scope, risks, issues, and change control.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary interface between the client, contractors, consultants, and project teams.
  • Manage client expectations and maintain strong relationships.
  • Chair project meetings and provide regular progress reports.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineers, architects, cost managers, and contractors.

Cost & Commercial Management

  • Manage project budgets and financial performance.
  • Review variations, claims, extensions of time, and change requests.
  • Support procurement activities and contract administration.
  • Work closely with commercial and cost management teams.

Risk, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with defence governance frameworks and security protocols.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure health, safety, quality, and environmental standards are met.
  • Support business case development, gateway reviews, and governance reporting.

Construction & Handover

  • Oversee site activities and contractor performance.
  • Coordinate commissioning, testing, and handover processes.
  • Ensure defects are managed and project closeout is completed successfully.

Essential

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in construction.
  • Experience delivering defence, government, secure infrastructure, mission-critical, or complex capital projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience managing consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with project planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
