Project Manager

Role context

Project delivery and planning

• Review customer project contracts, technical and product specifications, and standards.
• Manage project initiation, planning, execution, and control across scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, communications, and procurement.
• Estimate manpower and materials, plan resources, and prepare rolling forecasts and project schedules.
• Review work breakdown structures, bar-chart schedules, S-curves, manpower histograms, and resource allocations.

Reporting, cost, and contract management

• Prepare progress reports and monthly project reports; monitor project progress, costing, budgets, and cost-control systems.
• Manage progress billing, contract claims, change orders, waivers, and concessions.
• Review purchase-order requests and scope-of-work deviations; report daily to the Engineering Division Manager or Project Director.
• Maintain project summaries and update the risk register regularly.

Coordination and leadership

• Guide lead project engineers and lead system engineers on technical and project issues.
• Coordinate vendors and subcontractors to meet delivery schedules.
• Coordinate customer commercial and technical matters and attend customer project progress reviews.
• Prioritize team activities and manage resources against project schedules and milestones.

Qualifications and experience

• Degree in an engineering field; Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical is preferred.
• At least 15 years of project management and execution experience.
• ISO 9001 Quality Management System awareness.
• PMP training and certification is preferable.

Skills and competencies

• Strong management, leadership, project management, and organizational skills, including handling multiple projects.
• Knowledge of IT basics and Microsoft applications, plus project progress reporting and presentation skills.
• Experience with project and system design engineering packages and related software.
• Ability to create and implement execution strategies, improve project planning and productivity, and support quality and project GP.
