Project Engineer – Façade

Role overview

Project planning and technical coordination

• Manage daily façade activities and monitor progress against schedules; coordinate procurement, fabrication, delivery, and installation.
• Review architectural, structural, and façade shop drawings; coordinate technical submittals, material approvals, and method statements.
• Review curtain walls, cladding, glazing, louvers, skylights, doors, and windows; resolve technical queries and site engineering issues.
• Coordinate façade testing for water penetration, air leakage, and structural performance; ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and consultant requirements.

Site, quality, and reporting duties

• Coordinate site teams and subcontractors; monitor installation, inspect work, and coordinate with civil, structural, MEP, and other construction teams.
• Check site measurements, surveys, installation tolerances, manpower, equipment, and material requirements.
• Coordinate consultant and client inspections; follow up inspection requests, material inspection requests, and non-conformance reports.
• Ensure approved method statements and inspection and test plans are followed and site work meets health and safety requirements.
• Prepare progress reports, maintain technical records and correspondence, track submissions and approvals, and coordinate as-built and handover documents.
• Report progress, technical issues, and potential delays to the Project Manager; recommend corrective actions and support timely completion.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of construction project engineering experience, preferably in façade or building-envelope projects.
• Experience with façade systems including curtain walls, structural or spider glazing, cladding and ACP panels, doors and windows, glass façades, skylights, louvers, or architectural metal works.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, technical submittals, and method statements; knowledge of façade installation procedures, materials, and construction practices.
• Experience working with consultants, main contractors, and façade subcontractors.

Skills and tools

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; BIM/Revit knowledge is an advantage.
• Key competencies include façade engineering, project planning, coordination, problem-solving, communication, site supervision, quality control, reporting, and documentation.
