Role Description
This part-time Project Engineer role at Fédération des travailleurs et travailleuses du Québec (FTQ) is a hybrid position based in Dubai, with a mix of on-site work and work from home.
The Project Engineer will support the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Daily responsibilities include preparing and reviewing technical documents, assisting with project schedules, monitoring progress, and helping manage risks and issues.
The role involves collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and vendors to align project requirements, resolve technical questions, and support decision-making.
The Project Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, documentation, and reporting to help optimize project delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong Project Engineering and Electrical Engineering skills to support the design, coordination, and technical evaluation of project activities.
- Demonstrated Project Management and Project Planning skills to assist in scheduling, tracking milestones, and managing project deliverables.
- Effective Communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and external partners in a clear and professional manner.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience working on engineering or construction projects, preferably in a unionized, industrial, or infrastructure context.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, manage priorities, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar) and standard office software.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and quality standards relevant to engineering projects is an asset.
