Job Summary

The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all engineering and construction activities related to commercial projects.

The role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality, safety, and contractual requirements.

The Project Engineer serves as the key liaison between clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.

Project Planning & Execution

  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate daily site activities to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project progress against approved schedules and milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.
  • Identify potential project risks and propose mitigation measures.

Technical Coordination

  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with consultants, architects, designers, and subcontractors regarding technical issues.
  • Ensure proper implementation of approved drawings and project standards.
  • Attend technical and coordination meetings with stakeholders.

Site Management

  • Supervise site engineers, foremen, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor work quality and ensure adherence to project standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Ensure all construction activities are carried out safely and efficiently.

Quality Assurance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with company quality management procedures.
  • Implement quality control measures and conduct inspections.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in safety audits and toolbox talks.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
  • Maintain records of site activities, inspections, approvals, and correspondence.
  • Track RFIs, submittals, variation orders, and project documentation.
  • Support project close-out activities and handover documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional engineering certification is an advantage.
  • Valid driving license is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial construction or fit-out projects.
  • Experience in office buildings, retail, hospitality, mixed-use developments, or commercial interiors is preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, and subcontractors.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, engineering standards, and local regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
