Job Summary

The Project Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the project including profitability.

Must possess high skills of leadership, strategic direction, and successful delivery of large-scale projects.

This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, cost effective and in line with quality, safety, and contractual requirements.

The Project Director acts as the key point of contact with stakeholders and drives project performance across all phases and reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and assist in the implementation, development and maintenance of Company systems for effective financial and commercial management.
  • Provide active leadership and direction for assisting project management team achieve programme and productivity targets.
  • Define project strategy, execution plans, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure accurate records of costs and revenues are produced on time.
  • Facilitate full compliance with the company processes and procedures.
  • Provide regular risk and opportunity reports and ensure timely action occurs to eliminate or mitigate risks and maximize opportunities.
  • Manage project budgets, cost control, and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, specifications, and regulations.
  • Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary teams (engineering, construction, procurement, etc.).
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
  • Ensure adherence to QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) standards.
  • Oversee procurement strategies and subcontractor performance.
  • Review and approve project reports, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Lead high-level meetings and provide executive reporting to senior management.
  • Establish KPI’s for project teams and facilitate their achievement.
  • Ensure positive portrayal of company’s image to the company advantage.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 18 years of experience in construction/project management.
  • Proven experience in leading mega or complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of contracts (FIDIC or similar).
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness.
  • Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus).
  • PMP or equivalent certification is preferred.
