The Project Director oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of major projects aligned with organizational objectives.
The role leads multiple projects, teams, budgets, and timelines while ensuring quality and stakeholder expectations are met.
Project leadership and delivery
- Develop project strategies, execution plans, and governance frameworks.
- Lead major projects from initiation through completion and oversee scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and deliverables.
- Establish milestones, performance indicators, reporting, and accountability standards.
- Manage project managers, multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders.
- Monitor progress, resolve issues, and take corrective action to maintain delivery objectives.
- Oversee financial planning, cost control, budget forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Identify and mitigate operational, financial, contractual, and compliance risks.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, contracts, policies, and quality standards.
- Build stakeholder relationships, lead reviews, and report performance, risks, and outcomes to executive leadership.
- Negotiate contracts, manage vendors and procurement, improve project methods, and conduct post-completion reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Extensive project management experience, including leadership of large-scale or complex projects.
- Proven delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, negotiation, decision-making, financial management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project methodologies, reporting systems, and relevant project management software.
- A Master's degree, MBA, or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
