The Senior Project Controller is a senior, hands-on project controls professional delivering integrated controls across cost, schedule, progress, change, risk, and information management interfaces.

The role supports major projects in complex JV, partnership, alliance, P3, DB, and PDB delivery environments.

The position acts as a controls integrator to keep cost, schedule, and information flows coherent, auditable, and useful.

Integrated Project Controls

  • Maintain baselines, progress cut-offs, update cycles, forecasting cadence, and performance review routines.
  • Develop integrated Primavera P6 schedules with sound logic, clear critical paths, realistic resourcing, and lookahead planning.
  • Manage commitments, actuals, accruals, cost coding, variance analysis, and EAC/ETC forecasts.
  • Align progress measurement, schedule updates, cost forecasts, and approved changes.

Change and Commercial Alignment

  • Maintain change logs, assess schedule and cost impacts, track approvals, adjust authorized baselines, and integrate changes into forecasts.
  • Coordinate with commercial and contract administration teams on substantiation, notices, claims readiness, records, narratives, and audit trails.

Reporting and Stakeholders

  • Produce reporting packs covering schedule status, cost performance, progress, KPIs, changes, trends, and risks.
  • Provide root-cause analysis, emerging risk and opportunity insights, recovery recommendations, and risk-to-forecast commentary.
  • Present status in live and virtual forums and support project, JV, and partner governance meetings.

JV Controls Integration

  • Align WBS/CBS structures, cost codes, progress rules, reporting definitions, and cut-off calendars across partners.
  • Consolidate partner inputs into a validated single-source-of-truth view and escalate data-quality issues.
  • Coordinate controls interfaces across partners, subcontractors, and client stakeholders.

Information and Risk

  • Oversee registers for deliverables, correspondence, transmittals, approvals, and closeout documentation.
  • Ensure document workflows and controls artifacts support auditability, contract administration, traceability, and retrieval in the CDE.
  • Integrate risks into schedule and cost forecasts and improve controls standards, tools, templates, and reporting practices.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to lessons learned and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Typically 10 to 15 or more years of progressive experience delivering project controls on complex projects.
  • Experience with integrated cost, schedule, and reporting responsibilities.
  • Experience in JV, partnership, alliance, P3, DB, or PDB environments with multi-party reporting and governance.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, cost management and forecasting practices, advanced Excel, and dashboard or reporting practices.
  • Oracle or similar ERP or cost-system familiarity is an asset.
  • Strong information management and document control knowledge and excellent stakeholder communication skills are required.
