Project Commercial manager

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial, contracts, and cost management activities for the project.
• Administer FIDIC or similar contracts, including variations, claims, extensions of time, and dispute resolution.
• Oversee procurement, contract awards, and contract-document preparation, review, and negotiation.
• Manage payment certificates, invoices, financial reporting, cost capture, and budget control.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow, and provide commercial reports and dashboards.
• Manage change processes, commercial risk, and mitigation advice for project leadership.
• Lead and mentor the commercial and quantity-surveying team.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, legal, corporate, and internal stakeholders.
• Support audits, compliance reviews, and governance requirements.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quantity surveying, construction contracts, or a related field.
• 10+15 years of experience is stated; the intended experience range is unclear.
• Strong experience with FIDIC or similar contracts, including claims, variations, and dispute resolution.

Desired skills and experience

• Track record in cost management, contract administration, and commercial leadership on large-scale, multi-package projects.
• Negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to develop and defend commercial positions.
• Leadership and team-management skills, including experience with multicultural commercial or quantity-surveying teams.
