Specialised Engineering Consultants (SpEC) is an exclusive building services (MEP) consultancy practice providing project management, design, and construction supervision for complex developments.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Writer role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Writer will develop clear, accurate, and engaging content to support SpEC’s engineering, design, and project management activities, including reports, proposals, technical documentation, and marketing materials.

Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering information from subject matter experts, translating technical concepts into accessible language for varied audiences, and ensuring all content aligns with brand guidelines and client requirements.

The role involves drafting and refining project case studies, website and brochure copy, presentations, and internal communications, as well as maintaining consistent tone, style, and terminology across documents.

The Writer will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and leadership to meet deadlines, uphold quality standards, and support bidding, communication, and knowledge-sharing efforts.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Experience creating professional content such as reports, proposals, case studies, and marketing or corporate communications.
  • Ability to research and synthesize information from multiple sources, including interviews with technical experts.
  • Familiarity with engineering, construction, architecture, or MEP/building services terminology is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with standard office and document tools (e.g., MS Office Suite, PDF editors) and basic knowledge of layout or presentation tools.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English; additional language skills (especially Arabic) are a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort working on-site within a multidisciplinary team and engaging proactively with colleagues at different levels.
