The College of Medicine at Gulf Medical University, UAE, is seeking a dynamic and motivated faculty member with a PhD in Health Professions Education.
Applicants with a medical background and expertise in curriculum design, assessment, and educational research will be considered.
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching UG and PG programs, lead innovative educational initiatives, and engage in scholarly activity aligned with institutional priorities.
Experience
in interprofessional education, digital learning, or faculty development will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to
- curriculum design, review, and enhancement
- across health professions programs
- Support implementation of
- innovative teaching methodologies
- (CBME, PBL, simulation-based learning, digital learning)
- Drive
- faculty development initiatives
- in teaching, assessment, and educational best practices
- Contribute to
- academic quality assurance and accreditation processes
- (CAA and international standards)
- Conduct and publish
- research in health professions education
- Provide
- academic leadership, mentoring, and guidance
- to faculty and students
- Support interdisciplinary collaboration across colleges and programs
- Participate in institutional committees and strategic academic initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in
- Health Professions Education, Medical Education, or a related field
- Additional clinical or healthcare background will be an advantage
- **Associate Professor:**
- Minimum 8–10 years of academic experience
- **Professor:**
- Minimum 10–15 years of academic experience with proven leadership
- Strong track record in
- teaching, research publications, and curriculum development
- Experience with
- accreditation and quality assurance processes
Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in
- health professions education and curriculum design
- Strong knowledge of
- modern teaching and assessment strategies
- Excellent
- research, publication, and academic writing skills
- Strong
- communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities
- Experience in
- digital learning and educational technologies
- is an added advantage
