Experience
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in production planning, manufacturing planning, supply chain planning, or similar operational planning.
- At least 5 years of hands-on production planning experience.
- Manufacturing experience with varied products, customer-specific orders, multiple production processes, and multiple work centers, lines, or production areas.
- Proven capacity-planning and constraint-management experience; strong ERP/MRP experience.
- Experience coordinating Production, Procurement, Warehouse, Quality, and Customer/Delivery functions.
- Demonstrated improvements in planning accuracy, production performance, and delivery reliability.
Preferred experience
- Doors, furniture, cabinetry, closets, kitchens, joinery, woodworking, interior products, or similar engineered-to-order manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Odoo or a comparable ERP system is preferred.
Technical competence
- Production planning and scheduling; MRP/ERP; capacity planning; material requirements planning; BOMs and routings.
- Lead-time management, production sequencing, work-center planning, inventory and WIP management, and bottleneck identification.
- Production KPI management, Excel and data analysis, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement/Lean manufacturing.
Leadership and working approach
Use data to set decisions and priorities; maintain structured planning discipline and follow actions through to completion.
Identify risks proactively, challenge other functions when facts require it, and escalate issues early.
Understand the commercial connection between production performance, revenue, and customer commitments.
Be transparent about problems and hands-on with shop-floor realities; measure results by output, delivery reliability, and plan adherence.
Plan ownership and execution
- Maintain one clear, accurate, visible production plan and plan for factory execution rather than expectations.
- Identify risks to production and customer commitments before deadlines are missed.
- Review planned versus actual production daily and identify deviations promptly.
- For every significant deviation, define root cause, action, owner, deadline, and recovery date.
- Protect customer commitments by connecting production plans with delivery and installation needs.
Change control and escalation
- Control changes after the short-term plan is frozen; document reasons, priorities, impacts on orders and capacity, revised commitments, and approvals where required.
- Protect the factory from uncontrolled priority changes while preserving flexibility for genuine business needs.
- Challenge commitments unsupported by capacity, materials, manpower, machine availability, production constraints, or required lead time.
- Escalate critical unresolved risks with issue, business impact, root cause, options, recommended action, required decision, and deadline.
Continuous improvement and outcomes
- Continuously improve planning accuracy, production flow, capacity utilization, plan adherence, WIP, lead time, and production stability.
- Make production priorities, feasibility, required resources, bottlenecks, deviations, recovery ownership, and delivery commitments visible.
- Success means converting revenue commitments into realistic factory commitments and ensuring disciplined, visible execution.
Location
- The position is listed at DIP1, Dubai. The description does not specify a workplace arrangement.
