Job purpose
Define the ICE product and feature roadmap and share key insights with management to support product decisions.
Ensure the competitiveness of assigned vehicle models.
Product planning and strategy
- Develop product concepts and strategies aligned with company vision.
- Define product positioning and value proposition; create product roadmaps and timelines.
Specifications and lifecycle
- Translate customer needs into detailed product specifications and collaborate with engineering and design teams.
- Ensure features meet quality, cost, and timing targets.
- Monitor product performance and customer feedback; recommend product enhancements.
Pricing and business decisions
- Develop pricing strategies and product packages or bundles to enhance profitability and value perception.
- Prepare business cases for new models and proposals for feature additions, future-model variants, and pricing.
Qualifications and experience
- MBA or B.Tech qualification.
- 4–10 years of work experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of the vehicle and automotive industry, including SIAM classification, tax structure, and regulatory environment.
- Understanding of Indian consumers and new technologies and features.
Competencies
- Analytical skills, commitment to timelines, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel and relocate.
- Ability to understand and create product P&L scenarios; confidentiality is critical.
Role context
The role requires high accuracy amid changing customer preferences and frequent regulatory changes.
Internal stakeholders include Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Quality, Product Planning, and Digital and IT.
External stakeholders include dealers, research agencies, event management agencies, and data suppliers.
