Procurement Officer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Review procurement documents, prepare orders, negotiate supplier contracts, and manage vendor performance.
• Develop and monitor cost-reduction strategies, cost-control plans, purchasing policies, and inventory control procedures.
• Evaluate procurement requirements across the enterprise and maintain supplier, vendor, and subcontractor relationships.
• Attend technical meetings with clients and project teams, as well as vendor meetings.
• Track and schedule purchase orders for materials, equipment, and personnel; track inventory and purchasing activities.
• Review supplier proposals and invoices, and manage claims and losses.
• Discuss material and equipment needs with architects and engineers; open new accounts as needed.
• Track monthly budgets, variances, and actual spend; improve operations and document policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with staff, operations, and outside agencies to ensure materials, equipment, and services are available when needed.
• Encourage continuous improvement in competitive bidding and develop systems to monitor vendor performance.

Requirements and skills

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, business, finance, or a related field is required.
• At least 7 years of experience in procurement, contract management, or supply chain is required.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, including the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources, are required.

Pay

• The posting lists pay as AED 1 per month.
