Procurement Officer (Construction)
About This Role
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Procurement Officer with at least 10 years' experience in the construction industry. The role requires strong expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and procurement planning to support large-scale construction and MEP projects while ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full procurement lifecycle for construction projects
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines
- Source, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms to achieve cost savings
- Manage high-value procurement packages (materials, equipment, subcontracting)
- Prepare and review Purchase Orders (POs), contracts, and agreements
- Ensure timely delivery of materials in coordination with project/site teams
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any delays or disputes
- Control procurement budgets and track cost optimization initiatives
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, company policies, and UAE regulations
- Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders
- Generate procurement reports and forecasts for management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of procurement experience in construction/Engineering
- Proven experience handling large-scale or multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, technical specifications, and suppliers
- Experience in local and international sourcing
- Advanced negotiation and contract management skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- UAE/GCC construction experience is highly preferred
- Experience in cost control, budgeting, and value engineering
