Procurement Engineer
About This Role
Responsible for managing end-to-end procurement of materials and subcontract services for fit-out projects, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Review project drawings, BOQs, and specifications to understand material and service requirements.
- Prepare procurement schedules aligned with project timelines.
- Coordinate with project managers, designers, and site engineers for material planning.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
- Maintain an updated vendor database for fit-out materials (joinery, gypsum, MEP, finishes, etc.).
- Request and compare quotations from multiple vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Ensure procurement within approved budgets and cost-saving targets.
- Conduct price comparisons and prepare commercial bid analysis.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) as per project requirements.
- Ensure all technical and commercial terms are clearly defined.
- Track order status and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with site team for delivery schedules and storage requirements.
- Ensure materials meet project specifications and approved samples.
- Arrange material submittals and approvals prior to procurement.
- Monitor shipment, delivery timelines, and logistics coordination.
- Handle import/export procedures if materials are sourced internationally.
- Resolve delays or supply chain issues proactively.
- Liaise with consultants, clients, and internal teams for approvals.
- Work closely with accounts for payment processing and budget tracking.
- Support tendering and estimation teams when required.
