The Processing Team Leader oversees daily production activities and efficient workflow within the processing line in GMG’s Food division.
The role reports to the Production Manager and guides processing staff to achieve quality output while meeting safety and efficiency standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate workflow, assign tasks, and monitor staff performance against quality and safety standards.
- Ensure team members understand and follow SOPs and quality and safety guidelines; supervise the team to meet daily targets.
- Monitor production lines, resolve operational disruptions, and minimize downtime.
- Conduct quality checks, identify specification deviations, and work with the Production Supervisor to resolve issues.
- Manage equipment use, report maintenance needs, and ensure safe operating practices.
- Track production metrics, maintain records, communicate daily targets and updates, and troubleshoot minor equipment issues with maintenance staff.
- Recommend workflow, waste-reduction, and resource-optimization improvements; raise challenges with the Production Manager.
- Train new staff in SOPs, equipment handling, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
- Enforce safety regulations and report production efficiency, safety incidents, and quality issues accurately to management.
Required skills and qualifications
- At least 2–3 years of food processing experience.
- Diploma in Production Management.
- Certification in Food Safety and Quality Control.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
