Principle Mechanical Design Engineer (Buckinghamshire, Buckingham)

The Principle Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing test solutions, ranging from simple mechanical fixturing to full scale industrial machines.

The job will involve managing a team of mechanical design engineers, both permanent and contract, to ensure business targets can be achieved.

Reporting to the Engineering Director, the main duties are:

• Developing concept designs using CAD software.
• Designing and executing experiments to prove new concepts on machine.
• Perform FMEA and SRA ensuring applicable product/machine directives are being considered.
• Perform FEA analysis on critical parts/sub-assemblies using CAD and DOE techniques.
• Ability to manage a team of mechanical engineers and allocate work accordingly.
• Ability to liaise with other principle engineering functions to ensure mechanical design caters for overall product requirement, electrical, PCB, applications.
